Returns that end in another sale.
ReturnBay adds a self-serve returns portal to your Shopify store. Customers swap sizes, exchange for anything in your catalog, or take store credit — before a refund is ever on the table.
How can we make this right?
#1042Order number plus email, ZIP, or phone — no account, no login.
Per-unit quantities and reasons from your own list.
Exchange, replace, or return — bonuses and fees shown up front.
Prepaid label by email, or their own carrier — your instructions included.
Everything between “I want to return this” and money settled.
Exchange for anything you sell
Size swaps, replacements — or customers spend exchange credit in your real storefront cart via the theme widget. Differences are collected by draft-order invoice on approval.
Four ways to pay it back
Original payment, store credit, gift card — plus a bank-transfer flow for cash-on-delivery and bank-deposit orders.
Steer refunds with bonuses & fees
A bonus on store credit or a fee on cash refunds, per method. The portal shows the badges; customers pick with the trade-off in view.
A real policy engine
Ten condition types with and/or logic — order age, delivery, tags, value, channel, payment, RMA count. Auto-approve; attach restocking, return, or label fees.
Prepaid labels, or any carrier
Buy labels via EasyPost or Shippo at the cheapest rate on your carrier account — emailed to the customer, with QR code and tracking in your admin — or upload your own, or let customers ship with any carrier.
Emails customers actually get
Eight events from requested to refunded — editable templates with merge variables, live preview, and test sends.
Run it all from your Shopify admin.
One embedded list — searchable by RMA, order, or customer; filtered by resolution, shipping, refund method, or date. Approve, buy the label, refund, restock to the location you choose — and switch on an RMA note trail written back onto the Shopify order.

How do customers start a return?
Through a portal on your own storefront at yourstore.com/apps/returnbay. They enter their order number plus email, ZIP, or phone — no account or login — then pick items, reasons, and how they want it resolved.
Can customers exchange for a completely different product?
Yes. They spend their exchange credit in your real storefront cart via the ReturnBay theme widget — any product, any variant. When the exchange is approved, ReturnBay creates a Shopify draft order with their credit applied as a discount and emails them the invoice link for any difference.
What refund methods does ReturnBay support?
Four: refund to the original payment, store credit, gift card, and a bank-transfer flow that collects account details for cash-on-delivery and bank-deposit orders. You choose which to offer, and can attach a bonus or fee to each.
How do return shipping labels work?
Connect EasyPost or Shippo and buy prepaid labels at the cheapest rate on your carrier account — the label is emailed to the customer, and the QR code and tracking details sit in your admin. Or upload your own label, or let customers ship with any carrier they like.
Can returns be approved automatically?
Yes — policy rules decide. Build them from ten condition types (order age, delivery, tags, value, channel, payment method, and more) with and/or logic; matching returns auto-approve, and rules can attach restocking, return, or label fees.
Is ReturnBay really free?
Really. Everything is free today, the first 100 stores keep it free forever, and stores after that are offered special early pricing before any paid plan exists. The full promise is in the pricing section above, in writing.
